Increase Food Security in Uganda

amaranthGive a gift that improves the future of food security, farming production and community nutrition in Uganda. Farmers are being trained how to grow and market amaranth, a high protein grain that thrives in harsh growing conditions. In partnership with a local farmers association and a women’s bakery group, the project will help to decrease poverty and malnutrition while involving participants in micro-business opportunities.

Your gift of $20 can support one farmer with training, seeds, fertilizer and tools to introduce the amaranth crop. Your gift of $25 to $2,500 can cover the cost of training and equipping women bakers in selling and marketing amaranth enriched products to the community.
