Christian Entrepreneurs Savings and Credit Society (CHESS) is a savings and loan organization based in Kiambu, Kenya, that offers matching loan funds, networking and mentoring to over 400 members.  As small business owners, members share the vision to create jobs and retain jobs that ensure sustainable income for thousands of families.  Through CHESS, members enhance their business capacity through affordable credit and business and technology training.  Since 1997, Partners Worldwide has offered local and international mentoring relationships that partner experienced business people of the U.S. with strong entrepreneurs within CHESS.

KIAMBU, Kenya—Before launching his business in 2008, entrepreneur Samuel Kariuki worked as operations manager for 18 years in two Kenyan corporations, manufacturing animal feeds for a growing trend of farming throughout peri-urban areas of the capital city, Nairobi.

Volunteer Opportunities

Credit society offers loans and training to 650 SME business owners.  Board of 9 members is seeking international mentors in organizational development, strategic thinking, fundraising to match loans, and providing industry-specific mentoring to business owners.
