Haiti - Jerusalem
Leogane
New Jerusalem, a business network in Gonaives, Haiti, empowers small and medium business owners in the manufacturing and agriculture sectors. By utilizing a “shareholder model”, New Jerusalem integrates local human and financial resources to offer business training and mentoring opportunities to its members. In 2009, New Jerusalem also led a business conference “Hope for a Sustainable Economy” in a city still climbing out of hurricane disaster and flooding from nine months before. Over 300 entrepreneurs from every sector in northern and central Haiti attended, taking part in unprecedented networking opportunities and workshops on practical business measures to strengthen their role as Christian businesspeople and entrepreneurs.
