Liberian entrepreneur Isaiah Teah dials his cell phone and sets it to speaker as he leans in. Outside, his employees shovel sand off the back of a dump truck as he waits for his business mentor across the ocean to pick up.
After joining LEAD in 2007, Isaiah completed 12 weeks of business training and soon began filling larger contracts on the local market with his furniture and cement block company, Creative Joinery.
Using his loan from LEAD to purchase a second block making machine, Isaiah was able to double the number of full-time employees when he received the largest contract in the area, and now manages over 30 employees and additional contract workers.
