Regional Overview
In West Africa, Partners Worldwide walks alongside businesspeople and entrepreneurs in both urban and rural communities of Liberia, Côte d’Ivoire, Ghana and Nigeria to create jobs and overcome poverty. People of West Africa are subsistence farmers, producers of cloth, fisherman, nomadic cattle and sheep herders, seamstresses, retailers, government workers, traders and merchants.
Since 2001, Partners Worldwide has partnered with businesspeople in West Africa who desire to strengthen the marketplace. Each one participates in mentoring relationships and trains in business or agricultural stewardship. In addition, business owners have better access to capital through village savings, micro loans, or small and medium loans that stabilize businesses and create jobs.

Since 2004, farmers and small and medium business owners in northern Nigeria have partnered from every sector to grow healthy businesses that meet the needs of the community. Partners for Christian Empowerment Network (PCEN) offers business training, local mentoring, and access to capital to over 60 members who seek to create jobs and meet a triple bottom line: economic profit, spiritual fruit, and social transformation. North American mentors have partnered with PCEN since 2004.
