The economic downturn of recent years has exacerbated the plight of people mired in generational poverty, and the ranks of the new poor—the former middle class who now frequent food lines and have lost their homes—are growing.
Partners Worldwide connects the skills of business and professional people with the great need for opportunity and innovation. Creative solutions include new business training and launch, rural business development, successful prisoner re-entry, youth entrepreneurship, and urban community revitalization. Sunnyside Transformation Yakima Valley (STYV) brings positive transformation to businesses, churches, schools and local government. In the business realm, STYV motivates entrepreneurs to integrate purpose with their business’s growth. They are also developing a business academy to address the issue of underemployment in the community. Among churches, STYV raises awareness to strategies that are effective in serving the community and in line with God’s love and compassion. In schools, STYV helps develop the community-building skills of future leaders. With local government, STYV encourages civic leaders to improve their service to the common good.
