The Business as Mission (BAM) movement is a broad term that covers a wide range of holistic ministry activities all revolving around the many ways that business is integrated into our carrying out the Great Commission.

Partners Worldwide was one of the first organizations that as early as the mid 1990’s was boldly affirming Christian business people that their role in business was as important in building God’s Kingdom as being a pastor or missionary. Businesspeople were looking for tangible ways to get involved in addressing the challenges of global poverty in helping to reconcile all things for God’s glory.

Partners Worldwide best fits into the camp of enterprise development within the broader BAM movement. Neal Johnson, author of Business as Mission: A Comprehensive Guide to Theory and Practice, describes enterprise development in the following manner:
“This term describes the process by which Christian business people or businesses (often through Christian NGO’s) [. . . ] come alongside of existing indigenous business owners with various forms of support: providing capital investment, loans, equipment, expertise, prayer, encouragement, business training, one-on-one mentorship, hands-on business consulting and counseling, and perhaps partnerships or alliances.” (pg 63)

No, Partners Worldwide is a registered 501c3 not-for-profit organization.

The work of Partners Worldwide is primarily funded through tax-deductible donations from individuals, businesses and private foundations. In the 2008-2009 fiscal year, 45% of our total income came from individuals and/or business donations, 43% came from private foundations, 6% came from church contributions and 6% came from donated services and investment income.

One geographic region may represent a handful of countries, hundreds of languages and Partners Worldwide affiliates in both rural and urban settings. By selecting one region, DignityPartners are able to gain increasing depth of knowledge about the unique successes, challenges and needs of that region.

Yes, you can choose to receive around 4-6 insights into the impact of your investment in the region you selected. We will primarily communicate with you via email, so please be sure that we have a current email address for you. 

No, we have found that working with business groups that provide services to an entire community is far more effective than giving loans to an individual. 

Yes! You can be a multi-region DignityPartner by giving a minimum of $35 per month to each region. 

In 2009/10, Partners Worldwide worked with 16,852 businesses that created 1,922 jobs and sustained and additional 20,742 jobs.
